Dairy farms belonging to Alan Crafar are set to be sold by the end of next month - and there is already interest from as far away as Asia, Switzerland and Britain.
Real estate firm Bayleys has been appointed by receivers KordaMentha to sell eight farms, ranging from 128ha to 1750ha in size. The farms are being sold with an international tender process, which closes on June 23.
For now, Mr Crafar remains living on his Reporoa property and said this week that he had no intentions of leaving. He does not think the farms are worth any more than $12 million because of the state of the industry and the state of the farms, which he blamed on poor management by the liquidators.
