Cow plan faces court

An green lobby group is challenging the legality of controversial dairy farming operations proposing to house cows in cubicles.

The Environmental Defence Society yesterday filed proceedings in the High Court at Timaru challenging land use consents given to three companies planning to farm nearly 18,000 cows in the cubicles in the Mackenzie Basin.
