More fruit and vegetables will be on the move today than ever before to ensure Kiwis have fresh produce available for Easter.
The volume would be 20 per cent larger than Christmas at Countdown's three distribution centres, with a team of over 100 working to dispatch the produce.

Growers had been working around the clock to help supply enough stock, Countdown's general manager of corporate affairs, Kiri Hannifin, said.

"Some of our growers have been working 24 hours a day to support us - and all have gone over and beyond. We are incredibly humbled and grateful," she said.
"And this week - across the board - produce prices are 6 per cent lower than they were for the same week last year."

There were no limits on fresh produce, meat, deli, in-store bakery, seafood and Easter products, the supermarket chain announced.

Packaged bread, beer and wine had a limit of four, Countdown announced yesterday on its Onecard dashboard to customers.
Limits of two per person remained for flour, pasta, long-life milk, canned baked beans and spaghetti, frozen veges, household cleaners, sanitary products, baby formula, toilet paper, paper towels, body washes and paracetamol.
