A man accused of assaulting star cricketer Jesse Ryder outside a Christchurch bar will stand trial next year.
The 38-year-old defendant, who has name suppression, denies assaulting Ryder on March 28 last year.
His trial is scheduled to begin on March 2, 2015.
A pre-trial callover was scheduled to be heard at Christchurch District Court today but a court official told APNZ that a new callover has been set down for February 20, to ensure details are ironed out before the trial date.
