KEY POINTS:
An Environment Court decision concerning North Harbour Stadium in Auckland is being hailed as a major milestone.
The court has backed a North Shore City Council proposal, which prevents future neighbours from lodging noise complaints.
The "no complaint" agreement has been struck between the council, stadium trust board, neighbouring landowners and developers.
It means any planned residential development near the stadium will need to agree to a "no complaint covenant" before being granted consent.
The deal also requires that noise reduction measures be incorporated in the construction of residential developments closest to the stadium.
North Harbour Stadium CEO Brendon O'Connor says the decision is a huge step in the stadium's development.
