A mother and her 12-year-old daughter were shaken but otherwise unhurt after the car they were in was in collision with a courier van at the intersection of Russell and Queen Streets in Masterton, yesterday.
The courier driver, who was on a relief courier run, also escaped serious injury but was treated by paramedics at the scene for what appeared to be a head bump.
The crash happened about 11.25am and left the front of the Mitsubishi Galant, driven by the Masterton woman, severely damaged.
Police, fire and ambulance services attended and bystanders helped direct traffic in the early stages, before the arrival of the emergency services.
