KEY POINTS:
A couple charged with a series of rest home burglaries were further remanded in custody when they appeared before Judge John Bisphan in Christchurch District Court today.
As with their first appearance in court a week ago, no bail applications were made for Stephen John Gibbs, 47, and Janelle Marie Lobb, 38. The couple live at the same Christchurch house.
Defence counsel for Lobb, Paul Norcross, said he was still seeking disclosure about the alleged offences from police.
The pair have not pleaded and are due to reappear on March 18.
Police allege the couple burgled retirement and residential care homes in Christchurch's north-east and north-west suburbs over a two-month period.
The pair are also charged with assaulting a woman with intent to enable them to get away after a burglary.
It is believed the victim of the alleged assault was a carer who was sprayed in the face with a mace-like substance.
