The Defence Force is looking to increase its counter-terrorist capability by recruiting staff to reinforce the Special Air Service.
But an Army spokeswoman yesterday did not know of any plans to double the size of the SAS.
An advertisement in the latest Army News said the first SAS group was looking for people from the three services to augment a "counter-terrorist tactical assault group".
