An Auckland councillor will be doing all she can to stop the demolition of the Monte Cecilia School.
The Hillsborough school was earmarked for demolition by the old Auckland City Council a year ago, to allow more land for the neighbouring Pah Homestead.
Albert - Eden - Roskill councillor Cathy Casey has put forward a notice of motion to revoke that decision.
She says Monte Cecilia School has always suggested it can simply move some buildings around to accommodate the extra space needed.
She says that way the school can avoid demolition.
The council is meeting at the moment to hear from Monte Cecilia.
