A Wanganui district councillor has been offered diversion after being charged with cannabis possession.
Jack Thomas Bullock, 23, of Durie Hill, briefly appeared before the court registrar at the Whanganui District Court this morning represented by Peter Brosnahan. He did not enter the dock and was silent throughout the appearance.
The registrar remanded Bullock until January 22 to complete diversion - which means he would escape a criminal conviction.
He was arrested as part of Operation Valley on November 22 and appeared at court that afternoon. In a press release this afternoon Bullock said he would not resign as a councillor and was not proud of the charge.
