The Environment Court has cleared the way today for Wellington's Manners Mall to be reopened to buses.
Opponents had appealed a Wellington City Council decision to rip up the pedestrian mall for bus-only lanes, but the court has ruled in favour of the council.
Wellington regional chamber of commerce CEO Charles Finny is welcoming the decision and says a more efficient public transport operation through the CBD is critical to the city's prosperity.
Work on Manners Mall is scheduled to start next month.
