KEY POINTS:
Auckland City Council is warning the public about a sausage suspected to contain poison.
The sausage was found on Monday at Blockhouse Bay's Craigavon Park.
In May, a dog became ill after eating a similar sausage.
Environmental health officers collected a sample of the sausage, which had a blue powder substance running along its centre.
Tests of the powder, which could not be seen clearly until the sausage was cut open, have been arranged by the Auckland Regional Public Health Service.
Temporary signs have been erected and Craigavon Park is has been subject to daily sausage searches.
