KEY POINTS:
Manukau City Council is continuing to warn people against walking along the Eastern Beach foreshore.
People must stay away from the affected area as there is a great danger the cliff could slump to the ground at any time.
"We cannot emphasise enough the danger for people walking around this area," says Rick Walden, the council's economic director.
Mr Walden said security guards now posted at the site will remain and experts are also monitoring the area.
People have been evacuated from six properties on Clovelly Rd because of the danger posed by land subsidence.
