KEY POINTS:
Christchurch City Council is promoting a bill to have the full ownership of Lancaster Park vested with it and away from the Crown before the end of the year.
The objective of the Land Vesting Bill is to have Lancaster Park, which is corporately sponsored as AMI Stadium, vested with the council for sport, recreation and entertainment.
This includes any lands owned by the Victory Park Board, which was set up in 1881 when Lancaster Park opened. The council says the bill will ensure the long-term viability of AMI Stadium in a way that is not possible under current arrangements.
The bill can be viewed at the Civic Offices and libraries until the fifth of December.
