People living in Manukau City are to get a fortnightly publication of council news and events delivered.
The publication has been endorsed by the committee of Tomorrow's Manukau, a strategy aimed at a vision of a progressive city inhabited by proud and prosperous people in 10 years.
However, there were concerns about its cost, that its news could be slanted in favour of the council and that local free newspapers could lose about $120,000 a year as a result of the publication.
Councillors were told its content would be along similar lines to the Auckland City Council publication City Scene. It could be out within six weeks.
