Council funded Neil Diamond concert

Wellington ratepayers made a sizeable contribution towards staging last month's Neil Diamond concert, but the council refuses to say how much.

The money, from the council's $1.15 million events development fund, was paid to the Westpac Stadium after it requested financial backing.

It was used mainly for marketing and venue costs.
