A fast stadium sellout for New Zealand's World Cup soccer playoff against Bahrain in Wellington has saved the city council up to $100,000.
Tickets sold quickly, and 1000 extra seats were added to the already record-breaking 34,500. The final 500 sold out within four minutes.
A promotional campaign to sell tickets had now been canned, saving $60,000 to $100,000, councillor John Morrison said.
