Council apologises to dog owners

Wellington City Council has apologised to dog owners for its bungling over new registration fees. The apology comes after pet owners received notification of planned price rises on the day that public consultation closed. However, the council has now agreed to extend consultation until June 3.

Kennel Club member Mike Butler, who had tried to email a late submission but had it returned, said he was relieved the council had seen sense.
