KEY POINTS:
A Department of Corrections van collided with a City Ride commuter bus in Rotorua today injuring seven people.
The van was transporting 10 people who had been doing community work when the crash happened at the intersection of Beaumonts Road and Ngongotaha Road at 3.45pm.
A Rotorua police spokesman said the van had gone through a 'give way' sign and hit the side of the bus.
Six people in the van received injuries ranging from bruises to a suspected broken ankle and collar bone and the bus driver suffered suspected broken ribs. They were taken to hospital Rotorua Hospital. The six passengers on the bus were unharmed.
The crash is being investigated and more details were expected tomorrow.
