A person has been found dead following a search and rescue operation in the Whangamatā area.
Police search and rescue personnel and volunteers were searching through the early hours of this morning after receiving a report of an overdue mountain biker at around 1.30am, police said in a statement thisafternoon.
“Police will conduct inquiries on behalf of the Coroner, who will release their finding in due course.”
A police Eagle helicopter was involved in the search.
