A Wairarapa man was flown to Wellington Hospital's Emergency Department after losing control of his motorcycle. The man, in his 30s, sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
The Life Flight Trust's Westpac rescue helicopter was called about 1.30pm on Sunday to transport the motorcyclist to Wellington.
A Wellington Free Ambulanceroad crew treated the injured rider to stabilise him for the flight.
The accident happened near the Riversdale turn-off on the Castlepoint-Masterton Rd.
The helicopter was able to land in a paddock near the accident site.
Life Flight crewman Colin Larsen said the man had been travelling with a group of motorcyclists and was the only one injured in the crash. It appeared the man had lost control while travelling around a corner.
