A south Auckland police officer is being investigated after a prostitute laid a sexual complaint against him.
The allegation, against a Counties Manukau officer, was of a "serious sexual nature", 3 News reported tonight.
Counties Manukau district commander Superintendent John Tims confirmed a complaint had been received, but declined to comment further.
"We can confirm that a complaint has been received regarding a Counties Manukau district police officer," he said.
"The matter is currently the subject of an investigation and Police are unable to comment further at this time."
