A Central Otago policewoman has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice over her handling of a road crash five years ago.
Dairne Olwen Cassidy, 39, is expected to appear in court in Dunedin on July 27 for a post-committal hearing over the charge which was laid when she allegedly failed to disclose a statement made by a senior constable at a crash in Alexandra in July 2005 The Southland Times reported today.
At a post-committal hearing a defendant can apply for a sentencing indication, enter a plea, or apply for an oral evidence order.
