KEY POINTS:
Police are today continuing their investigation into a crash that hospitalised a Kerikeri police officer.
The officer was badly injured when his patrol car collided with a truck at an intersection in Kerikeri last night.
He had to be cut from his vehicle before being flown by air ambulance to Whangarei Hospital.
Sergeant Ross Laurie said the officer remained in a "serious but stable" condition today.
The investigation was "proceeding as normal," he said.
It was not yet clear whether charges would be laid or the Independent Police Complaints Authority would be involved, he said.
