The Department of Labour has identified the gas that exploded at a Hamilton cool store, killing one fireman.
It was a highly flammable propane gas, Hychill-50, previously known as HR22/502.
The blast and fire at the Icepak coolstore in suburban Tamahere on April 5 killed Senior Station Officer Derek Lovell and injured seven other firemen.
