Convict's parents crash

The parents of convicted murderer Scott Watson have been injured in a car accident in North Canterbury.

Chris and Bev Watson failed to take a notorious corner on State Highway 1 near Domett and went over a bank late on Saturday night.

Mr Watson was seriously injured and Mrs Watson suffered moderate injuries, Hurunui police said.

Scott Watson is serving a minimum 17 years in jail for the murders of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope in the Marlborough Sounds in 1998.
