A Taranaki teenager has been convicted of assault for punching a stranger in the face on a dare.
Terenia Lichtwark, 17, walked up to a woman on the street and punched her in the face, the Taranaki Daily News reported. The force of the blow broke the woman's nose.
When police spoke with the girl about the May 4 incident, Lichtwark said she was dared by her friends to punch the next person that walked past.
Lichtwark was sentenced to 80 hours' community work and ordered to pay $1500 emotional harm reparation.
