A Southland man previously convicted of murder 16 years ago is starting another prison sentence tonight.
Nigel Johnstone was sentenced in the High Court at Invercargill late this afternoon to three and a half years in prison.
The sentence comes after Johnstone was found guilty of several charges involving violence.
In sentencing Justice Lester Chisholm told Johnstone that his pre-sentence report made pretty dismal reading.
He said Johnstone still blames the victim and has little insight into the offending.
