A 35-year-old man who stabbed to death his remedial reading teacher when he was 15 is being released from prison today.
Stacy Dean Hollyman was sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing to death Margaret Russell in the bedroom of her Havelock North home in 1991.
He was released from prison in 2005 but was later recalled for taking drugs and inappropriate sexual behaviour.
In the Parole Board's decision released today it said he posed a moderate to high risk of sexual or violent reoffending.
He would be released to a undisclosed address, where he must either remain or be associated with the unit for two years .
