Police in Rodney are trying to find a convicted criminal who has skipped his home detention address and may be armed.
Desmond Bourne, 39, has fled his approved address and is on the run in the Rodney area, north of Auckland.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Batty said he had concerns about Bourne, given his past offending.
"He is known to police with a history that includes convictions for drugs and firearms offences," he said.
"He could be in possession of a firearm or involved in drug-related offending. We ask for the community's assistance to locate him so he can be placed before the courts."
