A fire has destroyed a garage at a Trust House property in Masterton, leaving nothing but a lawn mower intact.
The Masterton fire brigade were called to the fire which gutted the garage on Judds Rd at about 6.45pm on Tuesday.
Station Officer Mike Cornford said firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, but not before the fire destroyed the contents of the garage. "If it had been going a bit longer the shed next door could've had a good chance of catching on," Mr Cornford said.
Gym equipment and furniture in the garage were ruined, he said. There was also minor damage to an adjacent house.
The cause of the fire had yet to be established, Mr Cornford said. "It's undetermined but we don't think it's suspicious as such."
