Consent issues delay scuttling

Lack of a resource consent has delayed plans to sink the decommissioned Navy frigate Canterbury as a dive attraction.

The Bay of Islands Canterbury Charitable Trust hoped to scuttle the vessel just inside Cape Brett by April next year.

But it will not take place until June at the earliest.
