The curriculum vitae of conman John Davy has caught up with him in war-torn Afghanistan.
Mr Davy turned up in Kabul, where he was working until a New Zealander there told his employer of the uproar over Mr Davy's faked CV.
In an email, the Canadian-born Mr Davy says he was then "forced to resign my position".
Davy was jailed last year for faking credentials when he was appointed chief executive of the Maori Television Service.
He blames New Zealand for his latest sacking, saying: "I hope God extracts his revenge."
"It seems that those New Zealanders, prejudiced and as racist as I believe they are, refuse to let me get on with my life."
Mr Davy was deported in August after serving three months in prison for fraud for the fabricated CV that included a false master of business administration degree obtained from the internet. The scandal broke after a Herald investigation exposed him.
Mr Davy was initially sent back to Canada but moved to the Philippines to be with the woman he married while in jail.
His email to Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper does not disclose his whereabouts or the company he was working for in Afghanistan.
"I was getting my life back together working in Kabul. My wife and I wanted to help in the rebuilding of Afghanistan.
"The company I was working for employed a few NZ consultants and one of them recognised me from my time there. Even after helping this particular guy with a serious situation he told my boss about me.
"I am not a violent man nor an evil man. I am just a man that wants to get on with his life."
