A public meeting will be held in Napier tonight over concerns toxic fumes from a paper processing plant are poisoning workers and neighbours.
The kiln at Pan Pac at Whirinaki has been shut down pending an investigation after four workers were hospitalised potentially because of gas emissions from the machine.
Residents near the mill have also reported health issues potentially linked to fumes.
Green Party MP Catherine Delahunty will host tonight's meeting. She said local residents feel very let down by the mill operator, the DHB and the regional council.
The meeting will be held at the Bayview Hotel at 7pm.
