Police investigating the disappearance of a 45-year-old Lower Hutt man almost a fortnight ago say they are concerned for his emotional state and wellbeing.
Francis de Jong, known as Frank, was last seen in central Lower Hutt on the afternoon of July 6.
Detective Mike Tohill, of Lower Hutt police, said they were concerned about his emotional state and wellbeing, as he had not made contact with his family since then.
Mr de Jong was described as a European, of solid build with brown hair, and may have a beard now.
He has distinctive medieval-type tattoos on his upper arms.
He could be driving a silver 1996 Toyota Hiace van, registration UK1860, with the words "Satisfaction Guaranteed" written in red on the rear.
Mr de Jong has contacts in the Lower Hutt and Christchurch areas.
Police appealed to Mr de Jong to contact his family or police, or to go to the nearest police station so his family could know he was all right.
