Police say they are concerned for the safety of a 35-year-old Hamilton family man who hasn't been seen since walking out of his home early on Saturday morning.
Police said that truck driver Nicholas John Atkins finished a freight run to Auckland late on Friday night and bought cigarettes at a service station about 10.38pm before returning to the Smart Pl, Fairview, home he shares with his partner and two-year-old child.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said the couple were joined by friends before Mr Atkins told his partner between 12.30am and 1.30am he was going out and was never seen again.
"Given it's been four days since he was last seen and his phone or bank cards haven't been used, police hold concerns for Mr Atkins' safety and we ask that he makes contact either with us or his family to reassure us he is all right," he said.
Mr Thornton said that police had talked to friends and relatives about likely places he may have gone while family members had been conducting searches and carrying out a pamphlet drop.
