The safety of a missing 18-year-old woman with the intellectual age of a seven-year-old is causing serious concern, Auckland police said today.
Shoshone Anne-Marie Love, who has special needs, moved to Auckland from Christchurch with her caregiver last Thursday.
However, in the early hours of Friday, she left the Avondale house she was staying in. She was bare-footed at the time.
Police said Ms Love did not know her way around Auckland, had no personal possessions with her, had no money and had no means of contacting family or friends.
She was described as Maori, 1.50cm tall, of solid build and having brown medium-length hair with a blonde fringe.
She was in apparent good physical health.
When last seen, she was wearing grey checked pants, a white singlet and a grey zipped hoodie with a red pattern on the back and a front panel.
Police asked people with information of her whereabouts to contact Avondale police.
