There are concerns Auckland Council could sell off important public land.
The council's continuing to dispose of surplus land to increase land supply and raise cash.
But information released under the Local Government Official Information Act shows almost 30 land parcels could be up for sale or development.
Kaipatiki Local Board member John Gillon says some of the sites could be ecologically significant.
He says much of the bush land on the North Shore is part of the North-West Wild Link, which provides safe routes and refuge for native plants and animals.
