Wellington police are concerned for the well-being of a 50-year-old man who went missing on Sunday.
Malcolm Freeman, a resident of Mash Community House in Miramar, was last seen about 7.30am.
Detective Sergeant Fleur De Bes, of the Wellington CIB, said Mr Freeman was a mental health patient who required regular medication.
His bank accounts had not been accessed since he went missing and police were concerned for his safety.
Mr Freeman is described as European, around 155cm of medium build, with grey hair, slightly balding on top and a full beard and moustache, coloured black and grey.
He was last seen wearing a blue and grey ski hat with plaited ties, jeans and boots.
"We know Mr Freeman often wears several layers of clothing so someone may recognise him. He often visits the Botanical Gardens and regularly attends church services around the city," Ms De Bes said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
