Concern grows for missing Horowhenua man

The hunt for a Horowhenua man last seen more than three months ago is continuing.

Police have today issued a fresh appeal for information about 36-year-old Palmiro MacDonald.

He was last seen in Levin on March 23 when he was the passenger in a silver Holden Commodore.

Police said officers have spoken to a "large number of people" during their investigation and they are following up "a number" of inquiries.

"This includes information about some people who assisted in towing a car off the beach at Waitarere. Police would like to speak to the people who helped."

It has been reported that Nomads gang sources claim the Head Hunters killed Mr MacDonald and disposed of his body in a house fire at nearby Hokio Beach.

In May, Detective Inspector Ross Mckay said police had "serious concerns" about Mr MacDonald's wellbeing.

Police are asking for anyone in Waitarere Beach on Wednesday March 23 who may have helped tow a Holden Commodore out of the sand to contact them.
