Concerns are mounting for the welfare of a South Korean tourist missing in Franz Josef.
Department of Conservation staff alerted Franz Josef police to a rental vehicle in the Franz Josef Glacier carpark that had not moved since around Thursday last week.
The car is parked in the main glacier carpark with foot access to the Franz Josef Glacier valley and numerous bush walks.
The missing man is 31-year-old Ergine Cho from Incheon, South Korea. Mr Cho appears to be travelling alone and has been in New Zealand for two weeks.
If anyone has any information about Mr Cho they should contact Franz Josef police Constable Paul Gurney on 03 7520044.
