Friends and family members of a missing west Auckland woman with mild dementia are being contacted by police as they grow more concerned for her welfare.
Elizabeth Allen, 62, has not been seen since 7am on Monday in Denver Ave, Sunnyvale, near Henderson.
Photos of her were released by police as they sought public help to find her.
"Police say the level of concern for the status of her health and well being is increasing and they are eager for her to be located so that she can be returned home safely," spokesman Kevin Loughlin said.
"Police are speaking to family members, friends and numerous female associates in an effort to establish her recent movements."
Mr Loughlin said Ms Allen was known to frequently visit downtown Auckland as well as suburban sectors of Avondale and west Auckland.
Ms Allen is Maori, about 157cm tall, medium build and greying black hair. She was thought to be wearing a purple jersey and black pants, though police said she may have had access to other clothing and changed clothes since then.
Anyone with information about Ms Allen should call Henderson police immediately.
