KEY POINTS:
Police are warning that a team of dodgy asphalt driveway layers may be heading south, leaving behind a large number of disgruntled customers in the North Island.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said the workers offered to seal householders' driveways using hotmix left over from a job.
Some customers paid between $5000 and $20,000, then had to pay another company to finish or redo the job.
