The Audit Office has received a complaint about Christchurch Polytechnic which received millions of taxpayers dollars to run a computer course it claimed had almost 80,000 enrolments.
National MP Bill English has questioned links between the polytechnic, its staff and a software company involved in the course.
Former Christchurch mayor Vicki Buck is linked to both the polytechnic and the software company but has previously denied any conflict of interest. The course is one of several run by polytechnics now being reviewed by the Tertiary Education Commission.
