KEY POINTS:
The Renault-Nissan alliance has confirmed a project to build a manufacturing complex near Tangiers in Morocco.
Work will start next month and include an assembly plant which, once completed, will have an operating capacity of 400,000 vehicles a year.
Initial production is expected to be about 200,000 vehicles a year from 2010, which will provide the alliance with one of the largest manufacturing complexes in the Mediterranean.
The complex will create 6000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect jobs.
The site will extend Renault's manufacturing system for the production of competitive vehicles derived from the B0 Platform - the Logan, Clio 3, Tiida and Wingroad - and Nissan's system for the production of new-generation light commercial vehicles.
