A motorcyclist who died after a collision with a car in Waikato last week had been the subject of a complaint about his riding only moments before the crash.
Terrance Rodney Stewart Ward, 25, was seriously injured in the crash on the corner of Colgan St and St Mary's Ave, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday.
The Rotoorangi man was taken to Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit but died on Friday.
Waikato district road policing manager Inspector Freda Grace today revealed Mr Ward's riding had been the subject of a complaint.
"Minutes before the crash, which is still being investigated by the serious crash unit, police had received a complaint from a member of the public via the *555 line about the nature of his riding but tragically, the crash occurred before police arrived," she said.
"Unfortunately that wasn't the only motorcycle related death on Friday, with the serious crash unit called in to assist WorkSafe NZ following a quad-bike crash on a Puketaha farm that morning."
