Commuters warned of delays after rush hour trains disrupted heading into the city

Trains across Auckland have been disrupted by a problem with a freight train.

Auckland Transport is today warning commuters heading into the city at rush hour to expect disruption to the morning timetable.

The problem was initially affecting the southern and eastern lines but has since caused delays on the western line as well.

A spokesman said a freight train had broken down at Papakura but the engine had since been moved off the tracks.

Commuter services were expected to return to normal after 9am.
