A teenager found wearing a woman's bathrobe and undies after being chased by police and falling into a swimming pool has been ordered to do 160 hours' community work.
Vaea Samasoni, 18, a student, admitted unlawfully being in an enclosed yard and an unrelated burglary when he appeared in Blenheim District Court yesterday, the Marlborough Express reported.
At an earlier hearing police prosecutor Sergeant Steve Frost said Samasoni was seen by a member of the public on the roof of a Blenheim home about 2am on January 11. When police were called Samasoni ran off, with the occupant of the house chasing him.
He ran through several properties, fell into a swimming pool and took a woman's bathrobe to keep warm. Eventually Samasoni, wearing the robe and a pair of woman's panties, was caught by police dogs.
