Southlander Tom Scully's stellar performance in the points race would have delighted cycling enthusiasts at Glasgow's Chris Hoy Velodrome, as it did his supporters back home.
Former NZ cyclist Glen Thomson, who won the same race at the 1998 Commonwealths, summed up the talented 24-year-old's efforts after the race: "He just ran a coaching clinic on how to win a points race. He killed it."
