A complaint over a television show's ribald commentary about a child's drawing of double-bunked prisoners has been upheld by the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
Last September on TV3's 7 Days, a panel of comedians commented on a young girl's picture of two prisoners sleeping in a top bunk, and another two arguing about who should get in the bottom bunk first. The girl held up the picture, on which was written: "No money, plus a lot of prisoners, equals a lot of grossness up ahead." This prompted the comedians to make jokes of a sexual nature, one involving sodomy.
The authority considered the child's presence and identification exploitative.
